I’m not going to give you much concerning this subject other than to point you toward an excellent story by Paul Lukas at ESPN. The full story is here. Check it out.

For The Astros 50th anniversary the team will wear all of these uniforms as some point during the year.
Some of this report is really interesting. The Marlins, now of Miami rather than Florida, have completely new togs for the year. For their 50th anniversary, the Houston Astros are planning to sport throwback uniforms for some games, including my favorite, the rainbow jersey of the J.R. Richard era. The St. Louis Cardinals have a few changes; the most important of which is a gaudy patch boasting to the world that they are the champions of 2011.
And the Washington Nationals, oh my, nothing. Paul Lukas appropriately takes the Nationals to task for failing to acknowledge the death of Gary Carter with a patch. Carter, along with Andre Dawson, were the best players for the Montreal Expos and went into the Hall of Fame with an Expos cap on his plaque’s likeness. The Expos, of course, became the Nationals for the 2005 season.
Anyway, this is a great story about the fashion sense of MLB teams, or lack thereof. Enjoy.

I miss the calf socks and the pants that came to just below the knee.
Yes, I liked those too.
